Describe what is inside

Use a precise description rather than “general goods”. Declare batteries, liquids, chemicals, fragile items and any handling restrictions before acceptance is discussed.

Pack for the agreed movement

Consider the handovers the package may experience, not just its appearance at collection. Ask about suitable packaging for the transport mode and the product. Confirm any special packing requirements before dispatch.

Measure after packing

Count the finished packages. Record gross weight, outer dimensions and whether packages can be stacked. Include pallets and protruding parts in the measurements.
